I wonder.....
I wonder if anyone would aree with me that school is very stressful and can be a conflict with your personal life. I mean studying, making it to class on time, homework, collaborating with your collegues, writing 10 page essays, and preparing yourself for a philosophy test. Then on top of that you have a 9 to 5 job that can take away your free time and study time but you can't quit because you need the money to pay off your tuition and to put food in your refrigerator and clothes on your back. And then stress builds up because your mom had a nervous break down because she can't pay rent so you help with the money you earned... only making it difficlt on yourself. But things can't get any worse when you find out a family member dies. All this making it harder for you to focus in school. You can't focus because you're financially struggling, your mother's struggles stress you even more, and on top of that the pain in your heart from your relative's death can't help you concentrate. So do you think most teachers would understand all of your problems and give you a week to catch up? nope. i doubt it. Most teachers would say "everyone goes through it" but there are a very few that will actually sit down with you and listen to what you have to say... they may even be your shoulder to cry on if you need it. The big question is.... I wonder which teacher on the CSUSB campus is willing to listen and participate?

I don't know if some of this narrative is hypothetical (what someone MIGHT be going through) or what you are going through. But, the only way to know what teachers will listen and work with you is to approach them. I hope you're hanging in there.
